Ebola Response

“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

June 6, 2026 – Shocking News From the Field: Would You Feed Your Child a Rat for Breakfast?

Dear WeRemnant Family,
This past Friday and Saturday, our team, accompanied by two Kasese District Health Inspectors, went door-to-door throughout Kinyabakazi, Nyakahuhire Refugee Camp, and Bwenanule, serving over 4,000 people.

What we found was heartbreaking.
Many families are surviving by eating rats, dead animals, snakes, monkeys, bush meat, and whatever else they can find. In Nyakahuhire Refugee Camp, many residents fled violence in Congo and have endured generations of extreme poverty, starvation, and displacement. For many parents, feeding a rat to their child is not a choice—it is survival.
As we taught Ebola prevention, hygiene, sanitation, and proper handwashing, we also had to teach that consuming these animals dramatically increases the risk of disease, including Ebola and other deadly infections.

Because of your support, we were able to:

  • Over 4,000 people served in just two days.
  • Distribute soap, masks, and medications.
  • Establish disinfectant handwashing stations.
  • Treat the sick.
  • Train families in Ebola prevention.
  • Pray with families and share the Gospel.
  • Witness people give their lives to KING JESUS CHRIST.

But the need is much greater than we imagined.
There are five additional villages along the Uganda-Congo border facing the same conditions, and they need help now.

Immediate Needs

  • Expanding into 5 Additional Border Villages: thousands more people need medical care, Ebola prevention training, and the hope of the Gospel.
  • Medical Outreach Bus: we need a dedicated medical bus to transport healthcare workers, supplies, and ministry teams into these remote communities.
  • Starlink Internet: reliable communication is critical for reporting disease outbreaks, coordinating medical care, and training local leaders.
  • 8 Churches and 8 Pastoral Families: these villages need a permanent Kingdom presence. We plan to establish eight churches and train eight pastors and their wives to live among the people, disciple believers, and care for their communities.
  • Weekly Leadership Training: Every Sunday evening, we will train and disciple the leaders who will serve as our eyes, ears, and hands in these villages.
  • Pray with families and share the Gospel.

What began as an Ebola response has become a call to transform entire communities through medical care,
discipleship, education, and the Gospel of KING JESUS CHRIST.

Thank you for standing with us as the Hands and Feet of our KING.
Together, we are bringing hope where there was none.

June 4, 2026 – Ebola Response Update from Uganda

Dear WeRemnant Family and Friends,
We are grateful to GOD for every donor, prayer partner, and supporter standing with us as we continue to fight Ebola in Uganda.

Today, our team completed Ebola response training, and the medical supplies have been received. Because of your prayers and generosity, masks, soap, disinfectants, and protective supplies will now be taken directly into the three villages including the refugee camp we serve.

On Friday and Saturday, the WeRemnant team will go door to door to distribute supplies, train families, and pray with the people. These communities know us and trust us because WeRemnant has already been walking with them through clean water, medical care, school support, orphan care, and community outreach.

The Congo-Uganda border is currently closed due to unrest and safety concerns. Our team will remain in the Kasese District, near the border, and will not cross into Congo. However, anyone who comes into Uganda and needs help will be served as we are able. On Sunday, we will assess the remaining supplies. If enough resources are available, the team will go next week to five more surrounding villages to provide training, masks, supplies, and prayer.

Thank you for helping us be the Hands and Feet of KING JESUS CHRIST on the earth.
Your prayers, giving, and compassion are demonstrating the Gospel in a practical way.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

Prayer is our Root. Missions are the Fruit.
With love and gratitude,
The WeRemnant Family

Dear WeRemnant Friends and Family,
Ebola has returned to Uganda, and I praise GOD, that HE has prepared us to respond. Here is what we are doing right now.

The villages of Kinyabakazi, Bwenanule, and Nyakahuhire — including the refugee community near the Uganda Congo border — are communities where we already serve through our orphanage, schools, farm, church, and clean water system supporting more than 7,100 people.

In 2025, the LORD enabled us to bring clean water and train 30 hygiene and sanitation workers. HE knew Ebola would come in 2026. The best way to prevent the spread of Ebola is to teach proper sanitation, good hand-washing techniques, and keeping safe distances. Therefore, our response effort is targeted on Ebola prevention, symptom recognition, supplying medication, and quarantine procedures.

Together, We Are:

  • Holding an intensive 2-day Ebola prevention and response training for our workers, 1st week of June
  • Launching door-to-door education efforts in all three villages simultaneously shortly after training is complete
  • Distributing hygiene supplies and protective materials during these door-to-door training visits
  • Preparing community support tents for care, hydration, and prayer
  • Buying medical and symptom-support supplies
  • Purchasing land to start building a clinic to serve these communities

Today, the nearest hospital is more than 12.5 miles away. For many of those the LORD has called us to serve, reaching medical care is nearly impossible because they have no transportation and must often travel on foot.

We invite you to stand with us in prayer and giving as the Hands and Feet of KING JESUS CHRIST in Uganda.

Pray. Give. Build with us.
